Reverse Code
Informed by various messaging codes, Braille, the alphabet for the visually impaired; binary codes / systems used in computing and for patterns in weaving; and ethical codes, the UN universal declaration of rights and freedoms, the body of work presented here intends to point out that our society is in danger of reversing those hard-fought human advances into blind chaos of regression and nonsensical behavior. Reverse Code engages in issues of human rights, language, messaging, violation and possibility. It refocuses on tactile communication, which is slowly deteriorating with the emergence of technology. Lastly it suggests that in a our complex world, the world which is increasingly disorienting, communication, ethics and language become essential vehicles to help us navigate the world around us.
